NP Diesel Special 40

Overview

The NP Diesel Special 40 is a high quality, zinc – free, diesel engine oil designed to meet and exceed the performance requirements of the LMOA Generation 5 and General Electric (GE) Generation 4 Long Life railroad diesel engine oil standards.

NP Diesel Special 40 is manufactured from premium quality hydro-treated base oils, which contain lower levels of impurities, and are blended with an advanced additive package. Without these impurities, that limits the performance of conventional base oils, the use of NP Diesel Special 40 results in:

  • Excellent oxidation resistance, high dispersancy and improved TBN retention to protect against deposit formation and help maintain engine cleanliness.
  • Excellent wear protection and is non-corrosive to yellow metals engines.
  • An additive package that is zinc-free to protect silver bearings and bushings found in older EMD diesel engines, and is non-chlorinated to permit easier recycling or disposal of used oil.
